Ingredients
-
4 hot dog buns
-
4 beef hot dogs
-
8 slices of cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
-
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions
-
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
-
Slice each hot dog bun open slightly wider if needed, creating space for the hot dog and cheese.
-
Place one slice of cheese inside each side of the bun.
-
Insert a cooked or lightly warmed hot dog into the center of each bun between the cheese slices.
-
Lightly spread butter on the outside of each bun.
-
Place the assembled hot dogs carefully into the air fryer basket (work in batches if needed).
-
Air fry for 4–6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden and crispy.
-
Serve hot, optionally with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
-
Use thicker bakery-style buns for extra sturdiness and crispiness.
-
Switch it up with pepper jack, mozzarella, or Swiss cheese for different flavor profiles.
-
For extra indulgence, add a sprinkle of cooked bacon bits inside with the cheese before air frying.
