Description

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are a warm, buttery, and cheesy delight, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack. Flaky croissants are filled with savory ham and melty cheese, then baked to golden perfection. A touch of Dijon mustard adds a flavorful twist, making this an irresistible treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 croissants (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 slices of ham (or deli ham)
  • 6 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Assemble the Croissants:

    • Slice each croissant in half lengthwise.
    • Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom half (if using).
    • Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each croissant, then cover with the top half.
  • Prepare for Baking:

    • Place the assembled croissants on the baking sheet.
    • Melt the butter and brush it over the tops of the croissants for extra golden crispiness.
  • Bake the Croissants:

    • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.
  • Garnish & Serve:

    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor (optional).
    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Substitute Dijon mustard with honey mustard for a sweeter touch.
  • Add a sprinkle of black pepper or a drizzle of honey for extra flavor.
  • Try using turkey, prosciutto, or bacon for a different twist.
  • These croissants can be pre-assembled and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
