Cake:

Lavender Chocolate Frosting:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp dried lavender buds (infused in 2 tbsp warm milk)

1 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions

Prep Cake:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.

Alternate adding the dry ingredients with sour cream and milk, mixing until just combined.

Fold in blueberries and lavender buds.

Divide batter between pans and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.

Make Frosting:

Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla, and beat until creamy.

Infuse lavender buds in warm milk for 10 minutes, strain, and add infused milk with heavy cream to the frosting.
