Description

These Butter Pecan Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with buttery richness and crunchy pecans. A perfect homemade treat for holidays, potlucks, or whenever you need a cozy, crowd-pleasing dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.

  • Fold in the chopped pecans.

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  • Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Toast the pecans for an even deeper nutty flavor.

For extra richness, you can brown the butter before mixing.

Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
