Description

These crispy cabbage patties are the perfect savory snack or side dish—golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with simple, fresh flavors. A great way to use up leftover cabbage for a quick, vegetarian treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups grated cabbage

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)

  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prep the mixture: In a large bowl, combine grated cabbage, chopped onion, flour, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley. Mix well until evenly combined and a batter-like consistency forms.

  • Heat oil: In a skillet over medium heat, heat a thin layer of oil.

  • Form patties: Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the cabbage mixture and flatten slightly into a patty.

  • Fry: Cook each patty for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  • Serve: Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon.

Notes

  • Squeeze excess moisture from cabbage for crispier patties.

  • These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven or air fryer.

  • Add grated carrot or zucchini for variation.
