Ingredients
For the Garlic Parmesan Bread:
-
1 loaf artisan bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or French bread)
-
3 tablespoons butter, softened
-
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 teaspoon chopped parsley (optional)
For the Cheesesteak Filling:
-
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
-
1 lb (450g) thinly sliced ribeye steak or ground beef
-
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
-
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
6-8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
Instructions
-
Make the Garlic Bread:
Mix softened butter, garlic, Parmesan, and parsley. Slice bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on each half.
Toast under a broiler for 2–4 minutes until golden and crisp—watch closely to avoid burning. -
Prepare the Cheesesteak Filling:
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions (and peppers if using) until soft and caramelized.
Add steak and cook until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. -
Assemble the Sandwich:
Lay cheese slices over the hot steak mixture in the pan and let melt slightly. Spoon the cheesy steak mix onto the toasted garlic bread. -
Serve:
Slice and serve hot, optionally with a side of chips or dipping sauce like garlic aioli or marinara.
Notes
-
Swap ribeye for chicken or mushrooms for a different twist.
-
Add hot peppers or jalapeños for heat.
-
Great for sliders or party subs—just use mini rolls or baguette slices!
