Description

This Cheesy Baked Asparagus is a rich, creamy side dish loaded with garlic, Parmesan, and melty mozzarella. Baked in heavy cream until bubbly and golden, it’s a comforting way to enjoy fresh asparagus—perfect for holidays, weeknight dinners, or brunch!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs asparagus, stalks trimmed

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • Kosher salt, to taste

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella

  • Red pepper flakes, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    Preheat to 400ºF (200ºC).

  • Assemble the Dish:
Arrange trimmed asparagus in a 9″x13″ baking dish. Pour heavy cream evenly over asparagus. Scatter minced garlic over the top. Season generously with salt and pepper.

  • Add Cheese:
Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan and mozzarella. Add red pepper flakes if you want a hint of heat.

  • Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until asparagus is tender and the cheese is melted and golden brown.

  • Serve:
Serve hot as a flavorful side dish.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle with crispy bacon or pancetta before baking.

  • Thin asparagus cooks faster; thicker stalks may need a few more minutes.

  • Great served with roasted chicken, steak, or as a low-carb vegetarian entrée.
