Description

This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole is a creamy, cheesy, and family-friendly dinner recipe featuring shredded chicken, diced ham, and melted Swiss cheese. A comforting twist on the classic dish, it’s perfect for weeknight meals or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

  • 8 oz cooked ham, diced

  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (or a mix of Swiss and mozzarella)

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • Optional: 1 tsp Dijon mustard or garlic powder for added flavor

  • Topping (optional): 1 cup breadcrumbs mixed with 2 tbsp melted butter or crushed crackers

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, and Dijon mustard or seasoning (if using). Mix until smooth.

  • Fold in the chicken, ham, and half of the shredded cheese.

  • Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.

  • Top with remaining shredded cheese.

  • If using, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the topping is golden.

  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve over egg noodles, rice, or with steamed veggies.

  • Make it low-carb by skipping the breadcrumb topping.

  • Leftovers reheat beautifully the next day!
