For the Bread:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
For the Icing:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Prepare the Bread Dough:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (don’t overmix).
2. Coat the Bread in Cinnamon Sugar:
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour melted butter into a shallow dish.
- Divide the dough into two portions. Shape each portion into a rough loaf and dip in melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Place the dough into the loaf pan and sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on top.
3. Bake the Bread:
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
4. Make the Icing & Serve:
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle over the warm bread and enjoy

- Make it extra soft: Add 1/4 cup sour cream to the batter for a richer texture.
