Description

This Double Cheeseburger Stack with Tater Tot Skewers is a mouthwatering twist on a diner classic! Featuring juicy beef patties, melted cheddar, fresh toppings, and crispy tater tots on skewers, it’s the ultimate fun and flavorful burger experience—perfect for gatherings, game day, or an epic dinner.

Ingredients

For the Burgers:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

  • 4 burger buns (optional, or use tater tots as base)

  • Lettuce leaves

  • Tomato slices

For the Tater Tot Skewers:

  • 20-24 tater tots

  • Wooden or metal skewers

Optional Sauces:

  • Mayonnaise

  • Ketchup

  • Mustard

Instructions

Prepare the Tater Tots:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake tater tots according to package instructions until crispy and golden. Once cooked, thread 5–6 tots onto each skewer and set aside.

Make the Burger Patties:
In a bowl, season ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and form into flat patties.

Cook the Burgers:
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute to melt.

Assemble the Stack:
Use a crispy tater tot base or a burger bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, one cheesy patty, then repeat with a second patty and toppings. Use a skewer to secure the stack and top with a tater tot skewer for presentation.

Serve:
Serve hot with your favorite sauces and extra tater tot skewers on the side.

Notes

  • Customize with bacon, pickles, or sautéed onions for extra flavor.

  • For a low-carb version, skip the bun and use lettuce wraps or all tater tot layers.

  • Great as a party platter—assemble mini stacks!
