Description

This Easy Fruit Cobbler recipe is a classic Southern-style dessert made with just five ingredients! Featuring canned pie filling, a simple batter, and rich, melted butter, this cobbler bakes up golden and delicious with minimal effort. Perfect for weeknight desserts or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter

  • 1 cup self-rising flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 (1 lb. 5 oz.) can fruit pie filling (cherry, peach, blueberry, etc.)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven as it preheats.

  • In a bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, sugar, and milk until smooth.

  • Once the butter is melted, remove the pan from the oven and pour the batter mixture evenly over the melted butter—do not stir.

  • Spoon the canned pie filling over the batter. Again, do not stir.

  • Return the pan to the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

  • Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of canned pie filling to suit your taste.

  • For a crispier top, sprinkle a little sugar over the batter before baking.

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
