Ingredients

Garlic Bread Base:

  • 1 loaf French bread or thick Texas toast

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)

Sloppy Joe Mixture:

 

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 onion, finely diced

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 cup beef


Instructions

  • Prepare the Garlic Bread:
    Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, and parsley.
    Spread on bread slices. Bake for 5–7 minutes until lightly toasted.

  • Cook the Sloppy Joe Filling:
    In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion.
    Drain excess fat.
    Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, beef broth, salt, and pepper.
    Simmer for 5–10 minutes until thickened.

  • Assemble:
    Spoon Sloppy Joe mixture over toasted garlic bread slices.
    Top with shredded cheese.

  • Bake Again:
    Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

 

  • Serve:
    Garnish with extra parsley if desired. Serve hot.
