Keywords: Nutella cookie pie, stuffed cookie dessert, chocolate chip cookie pie, gooey cookie skillet, Nutella dessert recipe.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, browned

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

For the Filling:

  • 3/4 cup Nutella (or more for a thicker center)

Optional Toppings:

  • Flaky sea salt

  • Extra chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  • Brown the Butter: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty, 5–7 minutes. Stir often. Cool slightly.

  • Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.

  • Dry Ingredients: Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

  • Assemble the Pie: Press half of the cookie dough into a greased 9-inch pie pan or cast iron skillet. Spread Nutella evenly over the top, leaving a small border. Gently press the remaining dough over the Nutella layer.

  • Top and Bake: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt or extra chocolate chips if desired. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and set around the edges but still soft in the center.

  • Cool and Serve: Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For extra gooeyness, underbake slightly and serve warm.

  • Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.

  • Substitute Nutella with cookie butter or peanut butter for a twist.
