Description

This Lazy Man’s Pie Peach Cobbler is the ultimate easy dessert—made with pantry staples like flour, sugar, milk, and canned peaches. With just a few minutes of prep, this buttery, golden cobbler bakes up with a crisp top and gooey peach filling. Perfect for last-minute gatherings or weeknight treats!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter or margarine (1/2 cup)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • Dash of salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 quart sweetened peaches (fresh, canned, or frozen; if canned, drain excess syrup)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Melt Butter: Place the stick of butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the oven to melt as it preheats. Once melted, remove the dish from the oven.

  • Prepare Batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.

  • Assemble Cobbler: Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

  • Add Peaches: Spoon the sweetened peaches over the batter. Again, do not stir.

  • Bake: Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and the batter has risen around the fruit.

  • Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Delicious on its own or topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Fruit Options: This recipe is versatile—feel free to use other fruits like cherries, blackberries, or a mix.

  • Serving Suggestion: Best served warm. Pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven before serving.
