Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground sausage for added spice)

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained (e.g., Rotel)

  • 1/2 cup diced green onions

  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (optional, for extra heat)

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Tortilla chips or crackers, for serving

  • Cook the Meat:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.

    • Drain excess fat.

    • Stir in the taco seasoning and water.

    • Simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Prepare the Dip Mixture:

  • Assemble the Dip:

    • Spread the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish.

    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses evenly over the top.
