Description

Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli Roll-Up is a bold and cheesy twist on the classic sandwich—savory ground beef, sautéed onions, and gooey provolone all rolled into golden pizza dough and baked to crispy perfection. It’s the ultimate party appetizer or weeknight dinner packed with flavor! Keywords: Philly cheesesteak stromboli, cheesesteak roll-up, beef stromboli recipe, pizza dough wrap, easy stromboli bake.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 onion, chopped

  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

  • 1 refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade)

  • 6-8 slices provolone cheese

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)

  • Optional: garlic powder or Italian seasoning for the crust

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Filling

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with chopped onion (and bell pepper if using) until beef is browned and veggies are tender.

  2. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.

Step 2: Prepare the Dough
3. Roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle on parchment paper.
4. Layer provolone slices down the center lengthwise, leaving a border around the edges.
5. Spoon the cooled beef mixture evenly over the cheese.

Step 3: Roll and Seal
6. Carefully roll the dough lengthwise into a log, sealing the seam and tucking in the ends.
7. Place seam-side down on a baking sheet. Brush with olive oil or butter and sprinkle with garlic powder or Italian seasoning if desired.

Step 4: Bake
8. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
9. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Step 5: Serve
10. Slice into rounds and serve hot—great with marinara or cheese dip on the side.

Notes

  • Swap ground beef for thinly sliced steak for a more authentic Philly cheesesteak experience.

  • Use mozzarella or a cheese blend if provolone isn’t available.

  • Great for meal prep—just reheat slices in the oven or air fryer.
