Description

This Pioneer Woman cheeseburger pie is a cozy, family-favorite comfort food featuring seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and a golden crustless pie that tastes like a cheeseburger in casserole form. Easy, satisfying, and perfect for busy nights!

Ingredients

Serves 6–8

  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or preferred melting cheese)

  • 1/2 cup Bisquick or all-purpose baking mix

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.

  • Cook beef mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion until soft. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Assemble pie: Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

  • Prepare batter: In a bowl, whisk together Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour over the beef and cheese.

  • Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.

  • Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add a layer of pickles or diced tomatoes on top before baking for a more authentic cheeseburger flavor.

  • Substitute Bisquick with a homemade mix of flour, baking powder, and butter if needed.

  • Great with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite burger toppings on the side.
