Description

These Sausage & Rotel Crescent Rolls are the ultimate 15-minute party appetizer—packed with creamy, spicy sausage filling, melty cheese, and wrapped in flaky crescent dough. An easy, crowd-pleasing finger food for game days, holidays, or casual gatherings!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked plain sausage (pork or turkey), crumbled

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), well-drained

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count each)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Optional: egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water) for glossy tops

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, cream cheese, well-drained Rotel, and shredded cheddar until well mixed.

  • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise to make smaller triangles (for bite-size rolls).

  • Place a spoonful of filling near the wide end of each triangle and roll up tightly toward the tip.

  • Arrange on baking sheet and brush tops with egg wash if desired.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

  • Serve warm, garnished with green onions or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Make ahead and refrigerate unbaked rolls, then bake fresh for serving.

  • Spice it up by using hot sausage or pepper jack cheese.

  • These freeze well—reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through.
