Ingredients
-
1 lb cooked plain sausage (pork or turkey), crumbled
-
8 oz cream cheese, softened
-
1 (10 oz) can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), well-drained
-
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count each)
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
Optional: egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water) for glossy tops
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, cream cheese, well-drained Rotel, and shredded cheddar until well mixed.
-
Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle in half lengthwise to make smaller triangles (for bite-size rolls).
-
Place a spoonful of filling near the wide end of each triangle and roll up tightly toward the tip.
-
Arrange on baking sheet and brush tops with egg wash if desired.
-
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
-
Serve warm, garnished with green onions or parsley if desired.
Notes
-
Make ahead and refrigerate unbaked rolls, then bake fresh for serving.
-
Spice it up by using hot sausage or pepper jack cheese.
-
These freeze well—reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through.
