- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (or cayenne pepper for a spicier kick)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
Preheat the Oven & Prepare Dough
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the shredded cheddar cheese and softened butter until smooth.
2. Add Dry Ingredients & Water
- Add the flour, salt, paprika (or cayenne), and garlic powder. Mix until the dough starts to form crumbly pieces.
- Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together into a ball.
3. Roll & Cut the Crackers
- Lightly flour a surface and roll the dough out to ¼-inch thickness.
- Cut into 1-inch squares (or use a small cookie cutter for fun shapes).
- Use a fork to poke small holes in each cracker to prevent puffing.
4. Bake & Cool
- Place crackers on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then enjoy!
Notes
- For extra crunch, bake an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Want a smoky flavor? Add ½ teaspoon smoked paprika.
