Description

These Stuffed Cheesecake Fried Apple Pies combine warm cinnamon-spiced apple pie filling with creamy cheesecake, all wrapped in golden, crispy dough. A decadent, handheld dessert that’s perfect for fall gatherings or when you’re craving something extra indulgent.

Ingredients

  • For the Apple Pie Filling:

    • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

    • 1/4 cup brown sugar

    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

    • 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • For the Cheesecake Filling:

    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

    • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • For Assembly & Frying:

    • 1 package refrigerated pie dough (or homemade pie crust)

    • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

    • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

    • Optional: cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Make the Apple Filling:

    • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

    • Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are soft. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.

    • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool.

  • Prepare Cheesecake Filling:

    • In a bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Set aside.

  • Assemble the Pies:

    • Roll out pie dough and cut into 4–5 inch circles.

    • Place 1 tsp cheesecake filling and 1–2 tsp apple filling in the center of each.

    • Fold over, seal edges with a fork, and brush with egg wash.

  • Fry the Pies:

    • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or fryer.

    • Fry pies in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.

    • Drain on paper towels and dust with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Bake instead of frying at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes for a lighter version.

  • Make fillings in advance and chill for easier assembly.

  • Serve warm with caramel sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
