Description

This Texas Trash Dip is a warm, cheesy, and flavor-packed crowd-pleaser layered with refried beans, cream cheese, salsa, taco seasoning, and a trio of melted cheeses. The ultimate game day or party dip served with crunchy tortilla chips!


Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 package (1 oz) taco seasoning mix

  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies, undrained

  • 1 cup salsa

  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

 

  • Tortilla chips, for serving


Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Mix Base: In a large bowl, mix refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, diced green chilies, and salsa until smooth.

  • Layer & Top: Spread mixture into the prepared dish. Top evenly with Mexican blend, Monterey Jack, and cheddar cheeses.

  • Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.

 

  • Garnish & Serve: Cool slightly. Garnish with green onions and cilantro, if using. Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • Add cooked ground beef or sausage for a meatier version.

  • For a spicier kick, use hot salsa or diced jalapeños.
